Durham, NC – May 4, 2025 — Missy Lane’s, located in the heart of downtown Durham at 310 E Main Street, was alive with soul and style as the Ocean City Jazz Festival’s highly anticipated pop-up concert series kicked off in spectacular fashion.

Headlining the opening night was none other than The Soul Trumpeter Lin Rountree, who brought smooth grooves and powerful energy to a packed house. The evening opened with a live performance of Everyday “Live”, setting the tone for a night of intimate jazz brilliance. Rountree closed the show with his crowd-pleasing rendition of You Rock My World, leaving fans cheering for more.

This performance marked the first of a three-part pop-up series leading up to the renowned Ocean City Jazz Festival. The series will continue to light up Missy Lane’s with performances from celebrated saxophonist Jackiem Joyner on May 11, followed by the dynamic group Double Bass on May 18.

Each show offers a unique opportunity for jazz enthusiasts to experience world-class talent in an up-close and personal setting before the larger festivities begin. With its warm atmosphere and stellar acoustics, Missy Lane’s proves to be the perfect venue to preview the soulful sounds of summer jazz.

Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to the genre, these pop-up events promise an unforgettable lead-up to one of the region’s premier jazz celebrations.
