“My parents inspired me,” she shared. “My dad was an educator and my mom was a nurse, so I witnessed firsthand what it looked like to support and serve people in the community.”

“We’re losing some of those critical thinking skills,” Taylor explained, referencing the growing influence of screens and digital distractions in everyday life. “I want to create spaces where kids can actively use their minds and process emotions in a safe space where they don’t feel judged.”
That commitment to creating safe and inclusive environments is deeply personal for Taylor. As an African-American woman, representation matters.
She intentionally works to ensure that the children participating in her programs see leaders, facilitators, and mentors who reflect the communities they come from. For Taylor, visibility is not just important—it is transformative.
“I want people to feel understood and less judged,” she said.

“When you’re a visionary, you can have all these ideas,” she explained. “But every good idea doesn’t have to happen at the same time.”
