For Taylor, the passion for helping others did not happen by chance. It was rooted early in her upbringing.
“My parents inspired me,” she shared. “My dad was an educator and my mom was a nurse, so I witnessed firsthand what it looked like to support and serve people in the community.”
Watching her parents dedicate their lives to helping others planted a seed—one that eventually grew into a career focused on healing, empowerment, and human connection. Naturally drawn to helping professions, Taylor found her purpose in psychology and therapy, working with individuals navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, and ADHD.

At the center of Taylor’s vision is Cognificent Kids Network, an initiative focused on helping children strengthen not only their emotional health but also their ability to think critically and navigate life with confidence. One of her most exciting projects currently underway is a chess-based program designed to merge mental health awareness with social-emotional learning.
For many, chess may simply seem like a board game. But for Taylor, it represents something much larger.
The program encourages patience, strategy, emotional regulation, and decision-making—all while giving children a creative and engaging outlet to process emotions in a healthy environment. Through workshops, camps, and hands-on learning experiences, Taylor is helping young people sharpen both their minds and emotional intelligence.
“We’re losing some of those critical thinking skills,” Taylor explained, referencing the growing influence of screens and digital distractions in everyday life. “I want to create spaces where kids can actively use their minds and process emotions in a safe space where they don’t feel judged.”
That commitment to creating safe and inclusive environments is deeply personal for Taylor. As an African-American woman, representation matters.
She intentionally works to ensure that the children participating in her programs see leaders, facilitators, and mentors who reflect the communities they come from. For Taylor, visibility is not just important—it is transformative.
“I want people to feel understood and less judged,” she said.
And understanding is at the core of everything she does.
Whether supporting therapy clients, mentoring children, or building community partnerships, Taylor believes meaningful impact begins with connection. Her work is not only about addressing problems but about creating opportunities for growth, healing, and confidence.

As an entrepreneur, therapist, mother, wife, and visionary, Taylor admits balancing multiple responsibilities while managing countless ideas can sometimes feel overwhelming.
“When you’re a visionary, you can have all these ideas,” she explained. “But every good idea doesn’t have to happen at the same time.”
That lesson in patience and prioritization has become one of her greatest strengths. Rather than rushing every dream into reality, Taylor has learned to trust the process and give herself grace along the way.
