LANSING, MI – Hip-hop legend MC Lyte delivered an electrifying performance at Grewal Hall at 224 Sunday night, March 16th, 2025. Performing at 224 Street Washington Square in downtown

Lansing for the first time, Lyte made the crowd feel right at home with her dynamic stage presence and timeless hits.

Joining her for the night were special guests Mizz Reality of Lansing, MI and Detroit Diamond from the hit Netflix show Rhythm + Flow Season 2. Also in the building was DJ Jermaine of Chicago, IL, who set the tone for the night with a 30-minute set packed with old-school hip-hop bangers that had the audience hyped and ready for the main event.

MC Lyte performed a mix of her classic songs along with tracks from her new project, 1 of 1, creating an intimate and engaging experience she refers to as “bringing everyone into the living room.” One of the night’s standout moments came during her performance of Self Destruction, where she passed the mic to a lucky fan, allowing them to rap her iconic verse. The energy in the room was electric, proving why Lyte remains a powerhouse in hip-hop.

From start to finish, MC Lyte put on an outstanding show that had heads nodding and hands in the air. Though it was her first time performing in Lansing, the connection with the crowd made it feel like home. The night was a true celebration of hip-hop, proving once again why MC Lyte is an undisputed icon in the game. ~ Doug D. Sims
