By Doug D. Sims

Last year, Shaun LaBelle captivated the smooth and sophisticated soul audience with his standout track, “Your Love Kept Calling My Name.” Featuring an all-star lineup—including the legendary Jeff Lorber on keys, saxophonist Patrick Lamb, and arranger Maurizio Metalli—the song was elevated to new heights by the dynamic vocal interplay of Maysa and Stokley. Their soulful synergy made the track an unforgettable addition to contemporary jazz and soul playlists.

Now, LaBelle returns with another masterful composition, “Mon Cher Amour,” continuing his tradition of delivering refined and emotive music. This latest offering, set for release on March 17th, showcases the incomparable Maysa & Stokley on lead vocals, once again infusing the track with her signature depth and warmth. Accompanying her is jazz keyboard virtuoso Bobby Lyle, whose intricate, expressive playing adds a fresh dynamic to the arrangement.

True to LaBelle’s style, “Mon Cher Amour” embodies the perfect blend of smooth jazz and sophisticated soul, destined to climb the charts and resonate with fans of polished, heartfelt music. While its title may evoke memories of a certain Stevie Wonder classic, this track stands entirely on its own, reaffirming Shaun LaBelle’s position as a leading force in contemporary jazz and R&B.

With an impeccable lineup of talent and LaBelle’s unwavering commitment to excellence, “Mon Cher Amour” is poised to become another defining moment in his impressive discography. Fans and new listeners alike can look forward to an experience of pure musical elegance.
