Charlie Wilson – Charlie, Last Name, Wilson

Before Charlie Wilson became the legendary solo voice we know today, he had already spent years making history as the lead singer of The Gap Band. But in 2005, Uncle Charlie stepped into a powerful new chapter with his solo album Charlie, Last Name, Wilson.

The album reminded the world that Charlie Wilson wasn’t just a voice from the past—he was an artist who could still deliver grown-folks R&B with soul, honesty, and plenty of feeling. Songs like “Charlie, Last Name Wilson” helped introduce a new generation to the man behind one of R&B’s most recognizable voices.

Grander Rewind takes us back to the music, the memories, and the artists who helped shape the soundtrack of our lives.
